Set in Victorian Edinburgh, THE BREATHING HOUSE is a wild and sensual tale of personal and political intrigue, revenge and romance. The McCutcheon sisters – Hannah, Rachel and Agnes – inherit the Breathing House, an ancient sprawling building where every religious, political and sexual desire – no matter how outrageous – can be fulfilled. The sisters come into fierce conflict with each other over the future of the property and do battle with the men who want to lay claim to it for their own purposes – men such as the corrupt Duke of Argyle and the altruistic John Cloon.
